Mental Health Awareness
Public Service Campaign

I led the CBS Sports brand design team in creating a public service campaign for Mental Health Awareness Month. Partnering with former NFL player and commentator Aaron Taylor, we endeavored to share his story in a way that felt authentic and inviting.  Our goal was to destigmatize mental and emotional struggle and encourage seeking support.

We chose to depict Aaron’s story in an abstract paper world and through stop motion, creating a look that was visceral and real.  The layered textures of paper represented the beauty and vulnerability of mental health itself, while the stop motion captured the uniqueness of the individual.

Deliverables included ID’s, affiliate toolkits, digital, social, and DOOH

Logo

The campaign’s logo went through several rounds of revisions before arriving in it’s final form.  Below are some initial logo sketches and color studies that didn’t make the cut.
